Transfer assets between Meta Business Portfolios
This not terribly intuitive and the docs are really unclear.
But if you have a Facebook Page and/or Instagram account under one Business Portfolio and you need to move it to another, in Meta Business Suite:
- Switch to the Target Portfolio
- Go to Accounts → Pages
- At the top right, click on Add
- Click on Claim an existing Facebook Page
- Search for the page. If it is connected to an Instagram account, it will tell you it's going to come with. Click on Next
- Confirm the summary of changes and the assets that will be brought into your Target Portfolio, check the confirmation checkbox and click on Claim Page and Instagram
- Log and 2FA the Instagram account that will be brought across
The account should now be attached to the Target Portfolio and removed from the Source Portfolio.
Under the People tab for both accounts under Accounts → Pages and Accounts → Instagram accounts review the perms for the people attached and grant/remove access as required.
I found I also had to re-log into Instagram here and update my permissions to Full control as it has been imported with Partial control.
At this point, if you have multiple sets of assets you can add them to a Business asset group.
- Go to Accounts → Business asset groups
- Click on Add
- Select the organisation group type, for me it's Separate brands or line of business, Click on Confirm
- Give your group a name and click Next
- Under each asset type on the left, check the box for the relevant assets, in this case it's just Pages and Instagram accounts
- Set the permissions for each person and asset, click Create
- Click Done on the confirmation modal
